i've never worked out before. What should I expect the first time we meet?
Everyone starts somewhere! I certainly didn't know what I was doing when I first walked in to a gym. I will teach you what to do, how to do it, and what muscles you are working. I want you to feel confident when you workout!
For the first workout: We will go over your goals, exercise history, questions, concerns and assess your current fitness level! The routines are based around your current fitness level. Meaning, I will not have you sprint if you haven't ran in years. I won't have you doing box jumps if your knees bother you.
Where do you train clients?
I had a private gym in NC. Since I moved to WA, I am currently training in-home. If you are a member of a gym that allows an outside trainer, I would be happy to meet you there! I also have trained outside (at a local park) so my clients can soak up sun, while their children played.
What if I don't feel comfortable meeting you at my/your house?
I completely understand. I am all about safety, so we can meet in a public place the first time!
What if I don't have exercise equipment?
I can bring my equipment!
What if I Don't have daycare?
That is absolutely okay. 90% of my clients are parents and bring their kiddos. Just make sure to have their favorite snack/toy/book/show.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes! I offer discounted sessions for you and your spouse/friends!
I have aches and pains. can i still workout?
If you sprained/broke something, no. I suggest going to a hospital. If its your "usual aches and pains", I recommend working out to help strengthen weaker areas and also become more mobile! The more you move, the less you hurt!
How many days do you suggest meeting?
Short answer: It is up to you!
Long answer: If you are a self-starter, and also like to workout on your own, we can meet once a week!
If you struggle with motivation, and need someone to hold you accountable, I would recommend 2-3 times a week. My business is also super flexible. If 2x a week doesn't work for you, we can find what does!
DO YOU DO ONLINE TRAINING?
Yes! I have limited spots available on my app for online clients. Just ask me!
"Why is it limited?" I create each routine specifically for your body. It takes me 4-5 hours to upload 2 weeks worth of routines for one client.
I have a weird schedule. Can we still meet?
If for some reason our schedules don't align, I also offer online training!
What are your Certifications?
I have a college degree and two certifications through The American Council on Exercise and The National Council for Certified Personal Trainers. I have 50+ hours of CEC's and CPR/AED Certified through The American Red Cross/American Safety Training Institute.
I am currently going back to school to become a physical therapist assistant.
What if I don't like training with you?
Haha then you absolutely don't have to train with me! You are not stuck in a contract. Just let me know (politely) that you are not interested in training.
